Hey Lew, I wasn't sleeping, I was cutting wood and listening to the auction online through my iPhone, when I realized it was going cheap I got to the auction page to bid just a little too late. I wasn't paying close attention because I was only interested in the tiller which was about 50 items later. They had some narrow frames that went for $200-$400 in various conditions, a nice 800 went for over $600. A 182 went real cheap, like $25 I think. There was a one owner garage kept 129 that went for $600. it was still there when I went to pick up my tiller (it was only 10 minutes away from home) and I peeked at it, it was real nice. I think I could get myself into some trouble if I see more auctions like that one.

sorner. was this a Cub auction or just all things yard and farm? So far I've found five Cubs within a 500 mile radius and it sounds like there if you throw a rock you'll hear the "DING" of it hitting a Cub fender.
twoton, I'll likely be starting the tiller conversion in Mid April. Right now I'm building an old drag disc into a sleeve mount; besides the loader project. Currently making the wooden bearings. |

It was "all things farm, garden, toy". Here's the full list of what sold...
https://www.proxibid.com/Leaman-Auct...catalog/197062 An empty IH pay hauler empty box sold for the same amount as my tiller.

It's a good thing there's no Cub auctions around here that I know of. It would be the definition of slippery slope.

I'm afraid I'd go broke on bargains! I don't know prices there, but it seemed there was some amazing deals to be had.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
