No movement of hydraulics could be the wrong type of filter on the transmission (is the old filter a CC filter) or a broken gerotor (item #24 in parts breakdown of transmission) in the charge pump.

I believe it's a 3205, I found a sticker saying manufactured 1198, I take that as November 1998 and I read on the forums that the 3205 had dual brakes and the 3208 used a single brake combined with the diff lock for parking.

So its finally in the garage with my other GT2550 that won't get fuel to the carb. I started to tear the 3205 down to the frame and revealed the axle. I have no idea how to get the axle out of the frame and or even disconnected it from everything, this is a huge learning curve going from a tiny belt driven mower. If anyone has any disassembly tutorials that I haven't found I'd love to see before I get into it.

My plans for this 3205 are to also if possible install a category 0 3pt hitch if this is feasible and worth it to use the occasional rake, blade, custom carryall and adjustable hitches. Personally I'm in need of a larger tractor as is such as a 7252 or 7254 but even so a loader and 3pt on this would be handy

.

Read the link in post #3 for pulling and sealing the axle.

There is a lot of good information over here on the 3000 series too.

Transmission/differential removal, disassembly, reassembly, and installation are in the 3000 series service manual which you can download via the attached link.

Cat 0 3 point hitches were an option for the 3000 series tractor and the parts needed come up for sale once in a while and are no longer available from CC. Also included is a link for the gerotor issue that causes no hydraulic movement.

So I finally got time to tear the 3205 rear end out and apart, my 2550 has a cracked cylinder! Found a new motor for that I'll have to go pickup. The 3205 hydrostatic pump is worse then I was hoping. A gear broke and looks like it ground a shaft down and filled the pump with glitter oil. I'm on the hunt for a new pump with the model BDU-21L-500. The axle bearing blocks are smooth but they definitely let oil past causing the leak. Another sign of wear is on the main large gear in the differential it has wear on the drive side. I seen in a post someone had it too and reversed the gear around. Anyway does anyone know the bearing block parts and seals I need? The differential barely looks like it has a gasket at all.

Good job.

Here are the Cub parts with pricing and the Hydro-Gear part numbers.

I found this site for Hydro-Gear parts but have not ordered anything from them yet. I would call to confirm parts before I order.

Hydro-Gear https://www.hydrogear.parts/search.p...ection=product

I'm not sure you want to tear into it this far but sometimes pumps are pricey. I'm sure other seals and parts are needed too.

Hydro Gear https://www.hydrogear.parts/Hydro-Gear-51206/ & https://www.hydrogear.parts/Hydro-Gear-2510010/

Bearing block seals. These are just 40x30x4 seals with the spring to retain oil. The spring isn't needed for the roller bearing block but I use 6 of these when I rebuild them.

Make sure you clean and lubricate the roller bearings too.

That was me with the gears wearing and I've seen a few like mine over on MTF. I flipped mine over and have been using it with no problems so far. I'll probably open it back up this winter to inspect.

Hi all, been a while, I've been side tracked the past few weeks and had to drag my 3 series out of the garage in parts. I've got all the parts I need to order for the rear end probably going to total around $150. Hoping soon to order them and find time to fit them. I've got to remove the axle hubs which looks to be a 35mm nut I'm not to sure on it. Did anyone reuse there differential gasket or should I go new for $15 and use that?

Now recently I was going past an implement yard and I seen a beautiful Cub Cadet GT3200 25hp kohler 60" hydraulic lift deck, power steering, front remote hydraulics and a differetial locking cast iron rear end with 800hrs on it for $1695. I went in there offered my cub LT1024 to trade with 420hrs and boom $1000 later I now have another 3 series and credit card debt, oh well. The best part is my quick hitch fits it, snowblower fits, its just nice to have a working 3 series. It's a very powerful tractor whoever said its an addiction is right. I'm going to add an album of my GT3200 if anyone wants to see. I have 2 sets of wheel weights for both 3 series but now I need to find some deeper carriage bolts to fit them.

The LT1024 I just said goodbye to was a 24hp 50" deck with a smooth hydro, I got that for free, super clean but didn't run. I put $150 into it at most and some hours but it ran beautiful didnt leak any oil after the new valve cover gaskets i put on. I used it for 2 seasons and got my moneys worth for sure. It went for a good purpose anyway.

I've got allot of parts tractors around I need to sell. I really don't need them and have a plan for my 3205, GT3200 and I'll keep the HDS2135 which I've got running but not perfectly. I'm going to sell off my GT2550 with 60hrs running but has a cracked block. The body is beautiful on that tractor and a friends interested in the Cub 149 I have. That'll give me some cash to throw into new lug tires, atv tires, plow blade, auxilary lighting, paint and body works. Another project I need to build a shed or lean-to for the tractors. Before this year I had 1 John deere 165 12hp with a 38" deck that took 8 hours to mow the entire property, half a day to clear muck around the barn with a plow blade, and on a winters day too long to snowblow around the barn to the house and up. Ive got a long ways to snowblow for safety for areas like the barn and house.

Default 2005 GT3200 Hydraulic fades

I bought a 2005 CC GT3200 with about 500 hours on it. Question...I am having issues with my hydraulic drive. When I start the tractor and began to engage forward the movement is slow and weak. After about 10-15 minutes, and assuming the fluid is warmed up, the movement is fine. Forward and backward work as they should. When there is sluggishness/weakness, the tractor seems to loose engagement when I release the accelerator pedal. Instead of stopping, the tractor continues to roll and almost freefalls going down a hill. I replaced the fluid and filter, made sure all connections were not leaking and the problem persists. No leaking anywhere. I'm at a loss in what to do. If anyone has any thoughts, please advise. thank you.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
