Default Picked up a Gravely Super Convertible today.

A little bird told me Cad has at least one Gravely, Maybe some other guys here have them.

It's been about 35 years since I run one of these for an old lady that needed her farm tended to. I remember running these is not really for the faint of heart.

I got it with a mower, one open snowblower "dog eater" and one enclosed snowblower. Engine spins fine. The WICO box is off of it. The PO says he has it just needs to find it. PTO and gears all seem to engage fine.

I might be looking for the WICO box if the PO can't find the one that came off it.

I will post some pics soon!

I can not help you get a Wico mag,, I run exclusively Kohler powered Gravely's,,,

BUT,, there is an answer for your machine!!

I have never done one, so I do not know the cost,, but, the Harbor Freight engine has been adapted to the Super Convertible,,,

It is time to search YouTube,, and Google!!

I think the engine is fine. Hopefully the PO finds the box. If not I have sourced one for 80$ on ebay.

You may have to wait a bit more. Bill is heavily and severely impacted by the China Virus situation.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
