Default Back in the Cub game...1450 resto!

After several years without a GT, just picked up a 1979 1450! Super straight machine overall just needs a few things gone through. Should be a fun project! Always wanted a quietline, loved the styling of them...

EDIT-Now a restoration thread...

Good deal. I have a 1450 also. One of my favorites.

Thanks guys, I'm very happy with it so far. Previous owner did some maintenance recently but I need to do a few more things and inspect the motor mounts.

Had some time to work on Project 1450 today, pulled the battery and rear fender pan. She's a bit dirty going to clean her up spotless and change the hydro fluid if need be.

Probably does need a fluid and filter change, but she's not really that dirty--I've seen much much worse. Should clean up easily.

How do the motor mounts look?

Not sure, still need to pull the side tins off. Is there much holding them on?

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
