My 1250 got a younger brother
My 1250 looked a little sad all by itself so I picked it up a companion for it. It's an '87 cub 1211 in good shape and it runs and drives good. It needs a fuel pump (but I had a good one on a parts engine so I'll get it swapped and give it a well needed bath this weekend). Only paid $175 for it. I might keep it or sell it, I'll use it for a few months and decide (my aunt needs a mower so it may go to her. I might see if I can use it for snowblowing this winter).

Thanks guys. It needs a bit of work but it is strong. It has a carb issue where it runs for about 10 minutes and then just starts sputtering and dying and going shorter and shorter. I think the fuel pump is bad and it's not getting gas. I'll put a new needle and seat in and see what happens.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
