Relief Valve Differences????

I need some teaching about what the difference is on a 1250 and 1450 hydro relief valve?

My 1250 hydro valves have manual relief which typically is used by pulling the bar on the right side of the console.

It’s been broke off for years so manually pushing the button allowed us to push the tractor freely

I’ve recently purchased and upgrading my hydro pump with a 1450 ported pump so I can add the hydro lift.

The 1450 relief valves no longer have the manual button on them. How do these values work without the button on the top ? Are they self reliving when the system is not charged?

During the Quietline series IH made a switch from Manual Relief Valves to Automatic Relief Valves. Tractors with S/N <597244 had manuals and S/N 597245> had automatics.

Yes. Within a few seconds of shutting down the engine, pressure drops, and you can move the tractor.

Unless you can find NOS, the Manual Type of Valves are NLA from Cub Cadet.

FWIW:
Do remember unlike the manual valves, automatic valves will allow the tractor to roll on an incline when the engine is not running.
You don't want it running off in the bushes and leak liquids, or worse

In my opinion , $125 isn't a bad price for a metal Hydraulic valve. The post about the vega plastic lenses,$75 seems a little high. Just my thoughts.

I have NO clue why someone would want these Manual operated valves verses the Automatic ones.

Well I see 2 reasons possibly, why a person would prefer the 1st design.
One would be it keeps the tractor stopped or almost stopped on an incline with the engine off.
Sort of a safety for someone not familiar with the equipment.
The other would be if one was a purist, and wanting everything down to the last nut, washer and bolt to be as it left the factory, like is done on say one seeking a perfect "100" at a Corvette restorers gathering.
Possibly other reasons I've not thought of.
