Default Gt3200 doesn’t move when warm

My GT3200 Cub Cadet runs when cold. When it warms up, it doesn’t move and steering is tough. Could this be lift pump or big hydrostatic pump going bad?

There is a pump inside the hydrostatic transmission for movement of the tractor. There is an auxiliary pump for the hydraulic spool valves for the deck lift as well as an attachments and the power steering. Has the hydro filter been replaced recently. The wrong type of filter on the hydro can cause you issues. Is the fluid level in the hydro good?

Can you tell by looking underneath if it has a CC hydro filter on it. You might need to remove the seat and fender pan and see how much crud has built up on the hydro. They usually get pretty dirty there after years of use and there is a fan mounted to the drive shaft driving the transmission for cooling.. Clean the hydro and make sure the fan on the driveshaft is ok. The hydro overheating would be the only explanation for the symptoms you described.

Yes, spend the $16/17 for the CC filter and see if that helps. My 2182 manual actually showed replacing every 100 hours (if yours never has been, it's due, as you should really replace them early when new, too).

Did you check the release lever? It has to be out of the detent notch in order to work properly.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
