Assuming all supers are the same, the lift arm is under the fender and not above the fender. I had to add an extension to the lift arm on the snow thrower like pictured because the lift arm wouldn’t clear the axle without it. EBFF6752-79D9-47B0-A9E6-BCCCB3382205.jpg

6 replies, only one was responding my original question. The parts I need are the same for a QA42A or a QA42. You can split hairs if you like about me not identifying the implement right (I'm new to Cub Cadet), I'm just looking to answer to my original questions, which my original information was sufficient to answer.

Ok. Mine is like this, so you might be fine as is. I don’t know. With mine the front axle is directly between the lift arm connections.

I don’t know much about the shaft or gear box. I do have an extra shaft with ujoints here somewhere that’s in good shape except it was painted over.

The shafts are available from "jeff" at the top of the page. Gears? well yer on your own there,as they have been NLA for years but pop up on ebay ocassionally. Best to get a good used gear box most times, cost ways. Have fun |

I found the auger bearings yesterday. We don't have TSC in Canada, but I went to my local farm store and they had what I needed. The transfer shaft gear was rubbing on the tensioner bracket, I'll have another look at them. There was a ton of left to right movement in the transfer shaft, I'm wondering how to get that slack out.

I opened up the gear box today. I need to clean it out, but everything seems tight with no slop and no shavings in there. What I thought was slop in the bearing looks like it was just a loose connection to the driveshaft. I'll have a better idea when I get a chance to clean the gearbox up.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
