Default 2182 Cat 0 and Rear PTO Project

I picked up this 2182 this Spring. Tractor was a one owner who used it on a 100x100 suburban lot, and in really nice shape. 46Gt deck and equipped with rear bagger (which I will be swapping out in favor of something larger). Being that this tractor was in such nice shape I jumped on it. I decided to dive into installing a 3 pt and Rear PTO. Been wanting a cyclops with these options and this one is a great candidate for the swap. Install went well, its just time consuming. Biggest hiccup was the down stop rod for the rock shaft lift. One Cat 0 equipped supers, the rod needs to be longer as the cat O cover plate protrudes out further on the back of the tractor. I had to extend it with a section of threaded rod and a coupler. I had thought originally to just buy the correct rod though Cub if it was still available, but looking on the parts lists they don't even show a listing for a different rod. Anyone else done this swap and come across this issue.

We all like pics so heres a couple!

Nice tractor!

So what do you plan to use your 3pt and rear PTO for?

That is a very nice looking SGT! I don't know anything on the stop rod but your mod looks good from Georgia.

Thanks for the compliments!

I have the 356 tiller and L42 mower to run off the rear PTO. I have a pair of 982 with rear PTO also. The 2182's are such sweet running machines and I have wanted one for some time.

I am with Jon, let's see some action shots of the L42. Did you install some axle braces?

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
