Default Adding front hydraulics to a 2182

Talk me through adding front hydraulics to my 2182.... What all would be involved labor and parts wise.... Would it be worth the effort? I've got a line on a hydraulic angle blade for an SGT. I'm trying to decide if I should add front hydraulics, make the blade manual angle and sell the hydraulic setup, or an unknown third option.

I did a quick search, but didn't turn up anything that seemed to be what I was looking for.

MTD manual 772-4100A. Can't link the PDF here. If you PM me an email address I could. Or contact MTD directly to have them email it to you.

You need a second valve obviously. There is also a special piece that goes between the valves called a union fitting or adapter-valve- Part Number 711-3294. Can be found looking up a model 3100 or similar 3000 series and checking out the attachment to put extra valves on.

Don't forget to get some hoses or steel lines made up. The cub fittings are not made in captivity any where that I have found.

Part number 9 --> 711-3294

Get a bag of o-rings from Fastenal.

I believe the instructions are also in the big Cyclops manual 772-4166.

I was almost thinking it would be simpler to add an electric valve and then use the single hydraulic valve for 2 functions (e.g. lockout deck and use in front). Thoughts?

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
