You can buy a spool from a pulling website but then you will have full posi all the time so the tractor won't turn very well.

John, this isn't a Deere site.
OP: No, you can't convert the 1811 to a locking diff. Position and limited slip are on in the auto world. There isn't such a thing in tractors. They are open, and some have a differential lock option. Much different. Don't put a solid center in, or you'll never be able to turn it. If you want to do something, add steering brakes, or you might be able to shim up the spider gears to tighten them a bit. |

Or you could just buy one of these and have all that and back up lights when you back up along with shaft driven attachments just like the 400 series Deere stuff.

Exactly. I know where there's a 590hr 3240 with 4 factory hydraulic circuits, a 3 point hitch, a plow/ front hitch, a 60" deck and the elusive hydro tiller for sale right now. I really wish I had money....

A 3240 has a pedal operated locking rear end. Finding one with all 4 hyd circuits the 3pt and a hydro tiller is almost like finding a unicorn. It's in IL too.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
