Yep that is just a newer pump. As long as it has 10 teeth on the output shaft you're good to go. When you instal the new cork gasket put it on upside down so that it blocks the 3 small holes in the transaxle case.

Had no luck with finding a gasket on parttree so I made one. I checked the valves and they were there. Going to pick up a couple new filters and some fluid at the local case dealer tomorrow morning. The shaft is in the mail today. Had some difficulty getting the lower suction pipe to line up to the pump but I think it's good now once I get some fluid in it I'll check everything for leaks and change the fluid after the first cut just for good measure.

Shaft arrived today. Got to cleaning it up and ordered some new orings and rubber boots to put on before installing it. Any specific grease I should use for this shaft? Also the tunnel cover has some worn out bolt holes. Any idea on how I can make the cover quick removal so I can get to the shaft for service without trying to mess with 4 bolts? Maybe some sort of pins? Open to some ideas.

Gun grease is fine.
For the one time a year you will grease the shaft, does the cover really need modified?? |

Ok so I got everything together today. Greased and filled with hytran oil. Fired it up for the first time and I couldn't get the steering to work. Deck lift and forward and reverse worked decent. Figured I have an air pocket in the system I shut it down checked the fluid level and it was low. Topped it off and tried it again. Now I have no steering or deck lift bit forward and reverse work. Not hearing much whining from the pump tho. Is this a valve issue, something is plugged or possibly a air pocket? After I shut it down again I checked the fluid and it was full on the stick but very foamy.

Did you get the 2 lines that connect to the pump swapped? Post a pic.

I don't believe I did. I'm going to have to order a hydraulic gauge to check pressures of this pump. This is already disheartening.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
