It sounds good, only slightly louder than the factory muffler, and I have it exiting as far away from driver's seat as possible. I have tinnitus and loud noises bother me quite a bit, so this is not bad at all, and I'll always be wearing hearing protection when mowing. This also seemed like the simplest solution to me, since I could adjust it by simply using nipples and bends. I would have retained the factory exhaust but it seemed too much of a challenge for me.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester.
