I would check the following, just to be sure:

(A) Is all the pulleys in alignment
(B) Are all pulleys, that the belt rotates around, free to travel - no binding
(C) Do you have the correct and proper belt.
(D) When starting up the Snowblower, is the Engine throttle at 1/2 or less ??

These are the things that I can think of.

These are the things that I can think of.

A is the reason for this whole thread. B,C, and D are all yes.

I reached out to Matt Gonitzke through email because I found his info in numerous internet searches, and he replied that he had the same issue with his and he just fabricated longer arms for the forks of the mule bracket and moved the pins back to compensate for the alignment. I dont really want to have to go that route, and risk messing up my bracket, but it's a possibility I guess.

What I can't see from the pictures is does the snow blower drive pulley have to move forward or back?

Forward. The engine is either 1/2" or so too far forward, or the snow blower pulley and idler (on the bracket) are 1/2" too far back.

I’ve been mowing with this tractor for years. There’s no issue with belts on that.

Jeff from PA can make the shaft longer, then add a 1/2" spacer to the one already on there and one on the idler pulley.

Which shaft are you referring to? The big pulley shaft?

I just noticed that I think the idler pulley is on backwards… the spacer is in the front. The manual states to do this for diesels and 680… I’m thinking that might be an issue. See photos of alignment and the idler. (And possibly a leaking crank seal)
