Default Reverse pedal solid

Hi:

This is only a year old XT1-LT50 hardly used. My reverse pedal suddenly locked up. It will not move down at all. It is solid.

I can drive forward as normal, just cannot reverse. I have dropped the deck and there is a flat plate under the tractor. I need to remove to follow the linkage back. There is a large bolt in the center I guess I shall have to remove. Any instructions or advice someone can offer?

I just ran into what may be the same situation. I have an XT2 LX42 that has performed flawlessly right up until I started plowing thru thick leaves and thick clouds of dust and dirt. That’s when my reverse started to be limited then to the point of barely engaging. As you stated, the pedal felt solid..like it couldn’t move in full travel. I lowered the deck and took my compressor air nozzle to the underside. HUGE clouds of dirt, leaves, and I hate to think of what else came billowing out! I kept blasting as I moved the pedals up and down and more crap kept coming out. Finally, viola!!! Reverse pedal would move all the way down. Fired it up and reversed like it was brand new!!

I hope this also your issue and the fix is just as easy.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
