Default Starter/Gen rotation question

I didn't quite know where to post this question, so apologies in advance if it should be somewhere else.

I was given a rough looking Case 224 GT with a Kohler K321. I was told it was running ok when it quit a number of years ago due to starter/gen failure. My two options are refurb the tractor or move the K321 to a roller Cub. But in either scenario I would like to have the motor running where it sits before I decide. The Kohler sits in the Case opposite of how it sits in a Cub. (i.e. the flywheel is to the front) thus the starter/gen rotates CW as opposed to CCW on Cubs.

My problem is that the Case's s/g is gone (as in not there) so I can't even crank it.

I have a number of s/g's for Cubs (CCW rotation) and I see field coil kits on eBay for CW s/g's. My Question is: Can the rotation of an s/g be changed by just changing the field coils or are there other mods involved? I posed this question to one of the vendors and he didn't know. Has anyone done this before, or know otherwise how to change rotation?

And before anyone asks why not just buy a CW s/g? Because they are well over a Ben Franklin, that's why. Thanks for any input.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
