Where did you come up with that?
I don't know, what else would it be, hmm? It only misfires when throttled up and when hitting bumps.

Low gas level in the carb due to plugged up fuel system.
Poor engine ground.
Bad plug wire or poor connection.
Bad or failing condenser.
Dirty pounts.
Bad gas.
Incorrect timng.
Valves out of adjustment.
Carb not properly tuned.
Or even just an overall worn out motor.

*some of the possibilities*

But the length of the pushrod is only an issue if it's worn enough to render the point gap and timing not adjustable. Or, if the rod is somehow worn bad enough it leaks oil badly. Other than that, they basically never fail, and are basically never a problem.

I'll have to check the engine thoroughly. I think it has something to do with my points, but it's not a huge issue because the tractor still runs okay. I need to change the hydro fluid and filter, but that's a whole other story.

Can I vote water in the fuel bowl that sloshes around and gets sucked up while driving? Of course you'd need more in the tank to replenish the supply.

Found out one issue: That tractor had ISO mounts on the bottom from the factory, but they have since perished an been crushed by the engine. That might explain the shaking.

I love how to try and fix the front mounts the previous owner just took 2 more bottom ISO mounts and bolted them to the front of the cradle, in front of the original mounts. Those ones have since perished as well.

The rubbers in front of the iso mounts are factory.

The small "snubbers"?
They are there to maintain engine alignment keeping the front from being pulled down too far from the torque from front belt driven implements such as snow throwers and shredders.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
