I would think that the parts book would tell you exactly, or if you click on a part, you should get a more exact description.
You’re correct John. This screw size is used quite a bit on our cubs and for some reason everyone wants to convert to 1/4 x 20 or jam a self tapper in. Im now hearing the sirens of the correct police in the next room.

I used a few NOS ones on the tunnel cover of the 1512, they were black though...

Huh, you guys shoving any kind of sheet metal screw in, but mine was fancy and still had the original bolts. They're going to be swapped out for hex nuts, because a)They're a weird size and b)I lost them.

Here's what I got so far:
12-24 x 3/8" tunnel cover hex bolts
10-32 x 3/8" muffler box bolts
1 premium 1.5" muffler clamp U bolt w/ 2 nuts
10-32 x 1/2" baffle bolts (into the engine sheet metal)
3/8-16 2 1/4" partially threaded cradle bolts

I got tired of those Tunnel Cover bolts vibrating out and then looking for that odd 12-24 size. I drilled and tapped mine for the common 1/4-20 size. Real happy.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
