i will when i get home... i forgot i didnt upload them on here after i drained oil and took filter and cap off....from some internet pictures of the two different front covers, (on one with the oil filter in my current location, and one from where they normally are by the starter) they look the same, on the inside.. i meant to say that the block off cap will bolt into the threads where the nipple that currently holds the oil filter on if i take the nipple out it fits into the capped off side..... hard to explain i guess, i will take pics of the openings when i get home.....thanks

Ok... so, the cap will bolt on the right side, and the filter base will bolt on the left. Sounds like it works to me.....

You just need to see if there is a block off plug that needs switched under the cover. My bet is there is a screw in plug or drove in plug that has to be switched to utilize the different positions for the oil filter. I doubt that oil flows to both locations.

What "check valve" or ball and spring are you talking about? Filter bypass? Oil pressure regulator?

I can wait for the pics for a response, but I'll be at work tonight.... so no response from me until tomorrow near noon. Sorry man. Evening/night shift.

It has to be pressure regulator...Think I got my answer though...Looking at a d722 cover on eBay with only the left side provision for oil filter, and it has same nipple and ball check valve in opening....

Here's pics though....First 2 are current oil filter location with nipple still threaded in and second 2 are on the right side....Where they normally are....Does that look normal???

Looks normal to me.

That cartridge ball valve is a filter bypass valve. I'm sure.

Well.... get the cap on the right side, put some oil in it and crank it to make sure that it pumps oil over there. Then install the filter, put a pressure gauge in the block and crank some more, to make sure it flows to the components. Easy peezy.

ok so keep the check valve in there?? pull that nipple, switch that and the cover yada yada..... i will do this hopefully this weekend...just crank it a few and see if the filter fills??? i know i sound like a complete dumbass, but i really dont know sh&t about diesels, or kubotas, other than this one is supposed to run smooth as silk,has barely any hours on it, sips fuel, has a broad torque curve, will make a great "mower only" power plant, it was free.....oh and i dont want to take it aparti want to run the 3 gauge setup on this thing anyways, so i should be able to pull the senders for the idiot lights and run my gauges to same spots right?? or maybe drill and tap some.......

im telling you when it comes to an engine used in an application sold under someone elses umbrella, or at least in this situation, there is NO info to be had, whatsoever...but i did confirm that it is basically the same engine as a d722 just 2 cyl...
