Default LTX 1040 Question about my lower transmission belt

Hello:

I bought this last year, with 300 hours, and it ran fine for the season. First time I use it this year to cut less than a 1/4 acre when the lower transmission belt chugged for a couple seconds and broke. I go to change it along with the upper and deck belts. Goes smooth but the lower trans belt doesn't seem tight enough. My question is am I missing a piece? I looked in my backyard and I don't see clear signs that something broke and flew away. I was hoping if someone could shed some light because the 100 videos I've gone through don't seem to be the same model as mine. Here is a picture. The upper trans belt or belt guard isn't on as I haven't gotten that far yet.

Thanks in advance.

If you have the right belts. When you start it up and cycle the pedals a few times, it should balance out.

You were 100% correct, after I started it up and cycled the pedals all was fine.
Thanks very much.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
