Hi - new member here. Looks like a great site with lots of great info. I'm looking forward to watching and contributing.

I've been a fan of International Harvester for a long time (since the mid-50's). I grew up as a kid in the summer on an Iowa farm that had Farmalls - the M, H, and F-20. I finally got my own Farmall a few years ago when I retired . I bought a 1951 Cub and restored it. That worked out really well, so I bought a '51 H and restored it. I ended up selling the Cub, but missed it, so last fall I got my second Cub - a 1959 model. Both the H and the "new" Cub are restored now and running great. What I left out is the 1971 IH Cub Cadet 106 I got back in 2015. I began restoring it then, but it sort of got lost in the process of the other restorations and a move. It's now my current restoration project, which is why I joined the Only Cub Cadets Forum. I'm "currently" (hah) having a problem with the wiring and will possibly need some help with it. I'm going to take a look back at some other posts first to see if them can get me on the right track.

Glad to be here!

Jim

Welcome to OCC........

If you need a Wiring Diagram, go to the Technical Library section and look at page #5.

Welcome to OCC!

The 106 is a great little tractor, I own one myself and I love it. Never fails to get the job done. Once you finish your resto it'll serve you for many years to come!

Thanks to all - Hi Stanton. Good to see you too! I immediately have a problem to throw to the forum. I'll post on a different thread.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
