Arrow Model 1 Tiller

I searched the forum but could not locate anything on a model 1 tiller (not sure of the differences between it and the 1A, but apparently they are different). I'm having trouble sourcing the drive belt and a 140" belt for the PTO. Any suggestions?

Also, anyone have any of the upper support arms that control the tiller depth? Might be fabricating my own on that one I think!

Had a 102 pulling tractor as a kid and on a 100% impulse buy (thanks FB marketplace) picked up a model 71 CC package including the mower deck, snow blower, and this tiller. As far as I can tell all is original besides the tractor seat!

Thanks all.

First, welcome to OCC........

Did you look here for the Tiller Belt info............ Tiller Belt Chart

For your application, you will need Part #: IH-487045-R2 Belt.

This can be had at your local Cub Cadet, or Case/IH dealers. If that is not good, then the Sponsors at the top of the page can help you.

Exclamation Belts found, but there's more!

Thanks for the help! With the correct part number I was able to source the belts through the local Case dealer.

The Model 1 tiller I have is missing the upper bracket/support arms that control the depth. See part numbers 485-291-R1 & 485-292-R1 on the schematics for reference (Click the Cub Cadet Parts & Service Look Up link above then... Cub Cadet > Attachments > Tiller > Tiller #1 > Hitch and Shields)

It does not appear these are out there any longer. If anyone out there that owns one of these, and would be willing to reply with the measurements/degrees of each angled bends, that would be awesome!!

Need to hit the fab shop it appears!

Hang in there, someone here or internet sources might have what you need before you go to the fab shop.

Copy that!
The "fabrication" would be pretty simplistic (flat strap and 2 drilled holes), just need something to hold the depth control in place so the drive belt stays tight. I'm just a an original equipment kind of guy so someday would love a pair of original support arms to put on this old beast!

Thanks, yes I did check his stuff out. I keep looking around but nothing yet. We did a test fitment with some 1/8th gauge stuff which I think will do the job, just need to recreate them in 1/4" stock now.

If anyone happens to have the time to take some photos of their tiller upper support arms? I would sure like to see them! Bonus if you can shoot me measurements.

Thanks again all!

The arms are 18 1/4” long, on the tiller side the 2 holes measure 2 1/2” center to center and the offset bend appears to be 4” from outside to inside. The holes in front and back are both 3/4” from the end of the steel to the center of the hole. Hope that helps you

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
