Default Looking for vintage model 55,75,85

I have many fond memories when I was growing up when I would go to my great grandpa's house and ride on his Cub cadet mower after he had mowed the yard.

A few houses over was a place where they would dump lawn clippings and we would load up a little trailer and he would let me stand in the middle and steer when we drove up to drop off the clippings.

After doing some digging I discovered that the model he had I believe was a 75 or 85. It had a key start and a trailer.

I really would like to find one of these. I'm located in Michigan. I'm pretty handy and have restored other vehicles and fully rebuilt engines so I think I'm up to the task of getting one of these things going.

Any ideas where I can find these anymore?

I checked that Craigslist post but it's a slightly different design than the one I'm after.

Plus it's rather far away.

I made my wanted ad. Thanks a bunch.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
