Default the new guy from alabama

greetings one and all, My names mike and I have recently moved to the small town of cullman alabama after living 15 years in birmingham. I have 10 acres here on Alabama power lewis smith lake. I have a few cubs already, A 582 that I put a hydro rear end in, a 682 that I'm upgraded to an 18 hp kohler, a 154 lo-boy, a 122, then I also have a sears suburban, a JD 318, a jd 316, international 244 and a farmall H. I'm just now getting into the cubs, the I got the 122 as a basket case and rebuilt it, it was truely alot of fun. I kinda got involved with the cubs because my Dad is a farmall nut and I've guessed its rubbed off on me. I've really enjoyed going to the tractor shows with him and now I guess its time to build something of my own to take to the shows. So I will probably have quite a few questions that might be old knowledge to some so forgive me now cause I'm still a newbie to all this.

I am a 100% disabled vet, PTSD is my problem, I was in the 1st gulf war, guess the old brain just couldn't handle the things I was order to do, I am proud to have serves my country, but seems now I pay for it on a daily basis in one way or another.

being the show off that I am I will probably come up with some wierd/starnge contraption based off a CC, just chalk it up as hes a half crazed madman from alabama that doesn't know any better. if there is any other questions I can answer please feel free to drop me a line. I love talking tractor, 4x4 motorcycle, I guess just about anything mechanical holds my interest. I've searched this site over and ya'll have a great site, one I'm proud to be apart of.

Thanks for listening to my ramblings,
Mike

Mike

Thank you for serving! I'm sorry your going thru so much after serving this great country. I got out of the army 2 years before the 1st gulf war and thankfully never seen combat duty but I was prepared to give it all so others could live free. Thank you again for your service!

Default Hey Mike

A 122...NICE. I really like the older narrow frames like the 102/122 and 70/100 models. Sounds like ya got a lot going for you. 10 acres, lake, tractors and a member of this site. Glad to see ya post. I got my first CC from my grandfather, model 126 with what looks like a plastic credit card but is actually the ID card he got when new. I have the bill of sale also. Since that time I have had over 200 CC'S. Here's one of the narrow frames getting a makeover.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
