Pincor generator
New here...anyone have any knowledge with a pincor generator that mount on front of a cub? Mine isn't working got it apart was told by a guy at work that the rectifer may be bad? He said when you dont use a generator for a long time they lose change. I'm not sure of this. If that could be the problem where in the world can a person find one? It's easy to to get to as if it is a part that needs replaced or serviced. It's a plate right on the front of the gen. Any help would be great... manual would be awesome

Seen a few pincor's over the years, but never worked on one.
As far as a generator sitting and loosing it's field excitation, yes it is no myth, it does happen. Some generators don't have that problem, others do. Some are as simple as a quick spark from a 6 volt lantern battery, others have different methods. I had to re-flash my neighbors little harbor fright generator a couple of times, it was one of those little $89 ones. As far as your preconceived rectifier problem, they are easily tested if one has the knowledge. If you are not a person with electrical experience, I would suggest you take it to a person that is, so you don't do more damage to it IF it indeed needs any kind of repair. Without a schematic, it is pretty difficult to troubleshoot something electrical. They were available in the day, for various equipment manufactures. I think Deere offered them as an option, but not sure. Google is always a good option for things unknown. |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
