Roland,
Thanks for that additional detail. I apologize, I am hoping that this little tractor allows me to learn a lot of things at little to no cost. I am hoping that will be the case and my main reason for buying one that is currently running for cheap. I ordered the correct PTO switch since I have not found one locally but it will not be here until Xmas eve. I will have questions when I try and redo this portion of the wiring. Decided to pump out all of the old gas, it looked pink when I pulled most of it out of the tank with a transfer pump. I drained the gas from the carb bowl as well. Pulling the fuel filter this morning and will replace that as well. Hopefully I cAn find that replacement locally (could not find the part number from an online parts diagram). My hope is to get that system cleaned up and put some fresh gas and get it started again. |

The Fuel Filter is Kohler KH-25-050-02.

You have all of the info! Not sure where you pulled that but I am having a hard time tracking one down by that number, looking for an alternate part as a suitable replacement.

Missed your message early in the thread. It is set up like this. Is there anything that can be done to prevent or lessen the likelihood of this occurring. It seems to shift ok now

Thank you for the information you provided thus far and I apologize for my ignorance with the wiring process. I received the new and correct PTO and I had a quick question. The wiring diagram I have lines up the terminals in a different fashion than the actual layout of the switch. I was wondering if your wiring diagram is different or if we can "label" the terminals to the appropriate wire? Also, the gauge cluster is present but there is no wiring harness to connect it too. If I am understanding the wiring diagram. The PTO switch C terminal and the Key Switch S Terminal both connect to the Neutral Indicator. I am assuming that is within the gauge cluster? As you can see, I am probably in no position to work on this thing |

Show me a picture, of the back of switch, that you got.

Here is the switch, not sure why it loaded sideways but. The 3 terminals are at the bottom in the off position and the two on top in the on. Looks identical to the one you pictured. Just trying to determine what goes where.

Depending on the Vendor that made the switch, here is an Alternative Diagram.

The Neutral Switch is located under the Dash Panel. It would have three Red Wires going to it.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
