Default New guy from SW Pennsylvania.

Hello all, been a member for over a year, I have a 2182 that I bought new in February of 1993 and a 1782 that I picked up a couple of years ago on craigslist. I enjoy all of the informative posts and useful information. Hope to be able to be able to help out. Did someone say we want pictures?

Default 2182

Thanks Sam. I've already busted the rear end housing twice in the 2182 pushing snow, first time less than a year old that cub cadet fixed under warranty and two years ago that I fixed myself. I had a friend tig a bunch of extra pieces of aluminum on to strengthen it and so far no problems. I discovered the water problem in the axle tubes at that time and that is how I found OCC and drilled the center section to remedy that issue. The 2182 is used exclusively for snow duty and grading cause I really like the torque of the diesel for mowing with the model 324, 54 inch deck. Pic of 2182 ready for snow duty any time of the year now.

Put a set of rear end braces on it. I designed them and you can get them from Xtreme motor works. You need the SGT set for the Supers.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
