Still available new from CC. Part number 951-3029.
If the "local" store you are referring to is a Cub Cadet dealer, tell the idiot behind the counter to learn how to look up parts. Here is a link if you want to order online. No, you won't find a new one any cheaper: http://www.cubcadetpartsnmore.com/m5...-12-kohle.html |

That big brown truck is REAL CHEAP when you figure your time, lost wages, if you have to get off work, wear and tear on your vehicle. I had to have a bunch of corn planter parts one year (IH of course). They had to be ordered. Dealer had them shipped direct to me--could only do it next day delivery. I would have had to drive 3+ hours round trip to the dealer and still pay freight to get them there, it wasn't that much more to have them sent to the house.

Swing by your local big truck repair shop and pick up a short piece of stack pipe and build one.
That's what I did and it worked out well. You may be able to use the guts from the old one to copy. I used s/s scrub pads for a glass pack effect, sounds great too. TIP: don't tack weld the inlet pipe until you have everything lined up and positioned on the engine. I used short pieces of thin wall conduit for piping into-through-and outlet. Was a fun project. |

Umm...
Don't think a muffler will ship media mail!! The installation instructions maybe, if there is such a thing, but not the muffler!! |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
