Todd,
Your doing "O"utstanding work on the O.
The engine and tin work looks very good. Axle fix looks like it should be good for a long time too. Are you painting the bolts with clear?
I have been trying to work on some tractor stuff too. Just a little cold for me to paint much.
Regards,
Chris

Mr. Chris, thanks for the compliments. I've been thinking it's about time for another of our phone calls soon.
No the bolts are going to be re-plated. I was going to paint them, but I just hate to cover that IH stamping, so the O isn't going to be done as I first planned.

Todd,
Is the hardware going to be zinc plated? Do you have to send them out or is that something you can do? I remember posts by Matt G. where he was doing some of his own plating of hardware. Cant remember the process.
There is a guy on the Allis Forum (Steve from NJ) that has all his hardware plated with some "gold..." something plating/coating. It really makes the machine stand out.
Call me any time! Looking forward to it.
You have went to a lot of effort to have all the IH marked hardware. Its going to be a very nice machine with details like that!
Regards,
Chris

Chris, I'm going to be sending them out for zinc plating, little more than I care to tackle.

Looks great Todd. Can you elaborate on what you use for paint removal? I like the bare metal approach but noticed you're not sand blasting. Wire wheel? Something else?

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
