Looks like a mighty fine cub to me! I like the little 7hp machines. They sure do run smooth and balanced! Some of the best Cub Cadets I have are the workers.. They aren't pretty, but they never fail and they are always ready to work!

Hey man, ain't that I don't like your cub, just that I didn't notice the "newer" post in this section. I think it looks great, love the round fender tractors.
Looks good.

Thanks man I have spent a small fortune on this 47 year old garden tractor mechanically could have bought 2 new MTD Kohler Courage lawn mowers for what I have invested in this garden tractor but I followed the advice of the old timers on here as well as at the dealership & they all said the same thing, go ahead & buy a new one but you will be replacing it in 4-5 years. So I figured this 73 has lasted 47 years so there must be something to this. I love this old piece of iron.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
