I will be hunting for the Kohler oil today. Hopefully I will find a local spot for that. What kind of grease is recommended for the grease fittings? I didn't recall seeing that in the manual that I printed off. Also I will do my best to make sure to upload pictures as the questions come up.
Yes the sediment bowl is glass, and under the fuel tank. There is a wing type bolt on the bottom that you would loosen to get the side clamps off to remove the bowl.
There is a screen up inside that catches gunk from the fuel tank before it reaches the carburetor. And after some time they can become clogged. They can be cleaned, or replaced, depending on condition. Also this is where you will find the gasket/ ring, and that I would definitely replace.
Cub Cadet KH-210479 Screen, Filter
Cub Cadet KH-210468 Gasket, Fuel Filter Bowl
As for greasing a tractor. I use a Fleet Farm brand of general purpose grease. Right off the top of my head there will be the front axle pivot center, steering spindles, steering box, that you'll have to get at from the bottom. Front wheels, then your deck, and that should be the spindles, idler arm, and I thought something else but I'm drawing a blank right now...
Here is a website some use for references. Would recommend getting the parts from your local cub dealer or sponsors at the top on each page...

Good luck and keep us posted. You seem very intelligent and a real go getter, something that's rather refreshing for a change...

Good looking cub! Tractor supply or Lowes should have kohler oil, I'm sure other places will too. Or if there's a caseih dealer nearby you can't go wrong with 30w low ash.

I appreciate the thorough reply and the parts numbers. I guess I have a question as partstree has the fuel filter screen but the part number has an 210479-S? S meaning what? I know my Kohler is a K241AS and I also Know that Kohler made a K241A so which would be the one I would need?

I am putting together a list with parts number of everything I would need to get to make sure to keep my tractor running strong.

The list is as follows.
Carb Rebuild Kit: KH-25-757-01
Mower Blade Friction Disc: 959-3486
Mower Blade Hex Jam Nuts 3/4-16: 712-3026
Implement handle retaining Clip: IH-376314-R1

I have already purchased a new air filter and prefilter. I will be contacting IH for some Kohler 30 SAE this week. I know this thread has had talk on different opinions on oil and such but I figure I can't go wrong with Kohler considering that is the engine. Just my preference.

Some of the parts I have listed are things that are needed and just things I would like to have to make sure my baby will stay running strong. Not sure how much of these have been replace my guess probably none. I assume probably just a clean up on the carb has been done not a rebuild with new gaskets/diaphrams.

Again I want to thank all of you fine gentlemen with the vast amount of knowledge and tips and will keep everyone posted with my work.

Well "A" means special oil pan, and "S" means electric start, so neither have an effect on your filter screen or bowl gasket...
I JUST looked the parts up again, and I ain't seeing an A or S in the part numbers.

Probably just this greenhorn overthinking it as usual. I just need to get some parts and get my wrenching done. We got hammered with rain today where I am at. I heard close to three inches in the past day or say. I did some overseeding about three weeks ago and the yard is requiring some clean up as I haven't had the mower in it since the seed went down. Getting pretty anxious to get the 102 out there with the new blades. Hoping to mow on Thursday or Friday.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
