Default Oops I did it again... a twofer

I am on vacation this week to take care of some stuff around the house, and my honey do list is a mile long... but I have not gotten to one thing on it yet and it’s already Wednesday. Yesterday afternoon after putting out sick elderly dog down my wife came running with my phone, she saw a red 682 pop up on my Craigslist app that came with a 50C deck and snow plow, wheel weights and chains, it has cast iron under the rear too. It hasn’t run in years though. I was looking for a plow tractor because every time I plow with my Jacobsen I think my arm is going to drop off. So we get ready to jump in the van and hook my trailer up to go, but the seller also had an 1862 for sale with a 50C deck that also was not running but in pretty good shape and good plastic. So I called him back and made an offer on both. Now I have to go get my father in laws trailer because it’s bigger than mine. We drove two hours down and back to silver spring Maryland, and here they are in my driveway.

Sorry to hear about your dog. Sounds like a good score. I love the 82 series Cub Cadets. I use a 1282 with a cast iron rear to plow snow with and it does just fine. I'm sure the 682 will have no problem with that extra HP.

I think she’s a keeper. We’ve been married 17 years as of September 15th. I’m thinking about fixing the 1862 to give to my father in law to replace his craftsman. He just had shoulder replacement surgery and the recover hasn’t gone well at all so far, so I think the power steering would be a blessing to him. I got the red one because I like red, and I got it for the plow and wheel weights.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
