Default 1650 deck adjustment issues

I finally got my 1650 put back together and running decent most of the time. Thanks in no small part to the help and advice I received from this forum. This afternoon I put the mule drive and the 50 inch deck under it. I sharpened blades and checked things over last week. I've never had anything to do with one of these machines before so it took a while to assemble everything. I was glad to have the 149 sitting there with the deck already mounted so I had something to go by. I fought with it for quite a while and finally decided I had everything hooked up. I started the tractor and it took me a minuite to notice that the lift wasn't raising the deck evenly. The right side would raise up to about three inches and the left would still be on the ground. I fiddled with it for the next hour or more. I even went so far as to rob the adjustable bracket off the 149 to try and even things out. I've had no luck. Nothing looks odd or bent. I'm not looking for a golf course quality cut or anything but an inch or two off isn't going to work. It seems to only pick up the right side of the deck. Am I missing something? Or am I just doing it wrong? Any help you can give is appreciated.
Thank you,
Brad

Sounds like the spirol pin on the left side lift arm of the rock shaft may be sheared. Remove the tunnel cover and look for proper operation while raising and lowering the deck.

Easy to check
When in the fully raised position with or w/o the deck, both arms should touch or be the same distance from the cross member that the steering sector bolts to.

Eyeball them to make sure they are parallel when in the lowered or raised position.

Also but not too likely, one of the arms may be bent or twisted.

My 1650 has the same issue. I just have to figure out which one is the culprit, and deal with it.
Good luck,
Andy

Unfortunately I didn't think to get any pictures at the time. And I won't be back at the farm until this weekend. But you've given me a place to start looking, thank you. It really didn't look like either of the arms were bent so maybe it's the sheared pin scenario.
Thanks for the help,
Brad

So I finally got back out to the farm today for a few hours. I got there with renewed vigor and determination to solve this issue. I inspected everything you guys suggested earlier. Both arms seemed to raise up to the cross member and everything appeared to function correctly. I even went to the effort of switching the mule drive and deck from the 149 to see if that made a difference. Nothing really changed. I get it adjusted close to even, run the lift up and down, and it's all wrong again. I've adjusted and fiddled with everything I can think of. It just seems to pick up one side and put the other down almost to the ground. Still a lot of difference there. I checked the spirol pins holding the lift arms. They aren't sheared off. Both of them seem to be sticking down out of the bottoms of the holes, they don't come all the way to the top. It's like that on both arms. They seem to lift correctly but I think I should try and drive them back up some. If I can find a way to make it happen that is. I'm sorry, I wasn't able to do anything about any pictures right now. Having some computer issues here lately. I'll se what I can do though.
Thanks,
Brad

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
