I would run the 850 class and see what you come up with. I'd give you 85 to 100 feet tops. A lot of fun pulling is! So unless you have a couple thou to unload into this 71, I would keep it simple, and study the tractor set ups.

Let us know what you come up with! Good luck

Same goes for boat engines.

There's no replacement for displacement.

Default 71 puller

For now I am just going to get a weight bar and make some wheelie bars, I got a set of 26x12x12 dick cepek big pullers wrapped on real racing aluminum rims, just like douglas, but cheaper. I bought the wheels and rims from my friend for like $250, I couldn't pass up that type of a deal. I just have to finish painting another tractor I have half done now and then ill start on building that. I am just going to take your guys advice and pull a couple times with the k161 and then go from there. Thanks a lot for all your guys help!

Lots of clubs consider those pro tires so if I were you I'd take a set of regular bar tires with you.

Thumbs up

As good, as great, as better as people claim the Super to be, you flat-out {and I mean FLAT DOWN AND OUT} just don't and will not see a Super out on the track. The narrow and wide frame GEAR DRIVE IH Cub Cadets were the strongest, best built, cast iron transmission { which Cub Cadet finally ditched the weaker aluminum, back to the cast iron THANK YOU VERY MUCH }, SUPERIOR power delivery over the hydro drive, BEST garden tractors ever! I have about had it with people nit-picking my comments, so here you all go.

{now I'm about to be needled/nit-picked/let's count beans/ split hairs by the,.. so stuff that in your super pipe mister sister super}

LOL Keep update on the 71! Have a great day gang!

Thanks for all your help, 2 weeks ago I go a 122 with a k301 in it for $105 i'm going to put the 12hp engine in the 71, I actually did hook up to a farmall super a just to see what it would do since I have been too busy to go to any pulls lmao, and in first gear it didn't pull it 5 feet before bogging down and dying and the 7hp smokes a lot. So I am just going to drop the 12 in it. I will try to post pics of the engine tonight or tomorrow. I have kinda put this project on the back burner since I got a 1950 farmall super A demonstrator 3 weeks ago! And I have been working on getting that running for Arcadia md's annual steam show featuring farmalls this year.

check your clubs rules than put the biggest motor in your tractor that you are allowed be prepared to spend a lot of money make it correct the first time if you want to be competitive.do not spare any money on any piece of the tractor.have your motor built by a pro not just any small engine shop that would be just fine for mowing grass not pulling.this dvogtvpe man sure seems like he knows what he is talking about I always read his stuff. maybe you will not get as hooked on pullin like some of us have that is fine if you never want to even place. and just want to donate your money

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
