When Cub friends meet!
I had a chance to visit Dirty Steve today. We are part of the upstate NY Cub collectors contingent and are about 1 hour's drive apart. Steve had an 1811 that was giving it's life so other Cubs could live on, and he offered me the carcass when he was done harvesting his needed parts. There was still plenty of meat on the bones. Steve kept the M18 Kohler and the tinwork along with a few small trinkets. I got the frame, complete rear axle, front axle, steering tower, and dual hydraulics!
My 1512 has a busted rear so now I have a complete rear axle assembly ready for install and the steering tower/dash with the dual hydraulics are destined for my 782. Steve was a gracious host and gave me a tour of his family's four generation 1000 acre farm! Wow! Beautiful new equipment and some great classic IH tractors too. Thanks Steve!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
