Yeah...I'm up to 5 now. I try not to get on cl but when work is slow and i have the internet on hand its tough to resist.

Finally had a chance to make some progress on this unit. I started by removing the trac vac. I was kind of surprised to find I only needed to remove 3 bolts and it was completely off.
Then I decided to install my xtreme receiver hitch. I had this on my 1641 prior to mounting the cat 0. I had cut the bottom of the back plate off for the hitch and kept it "just in case". Im glad I did because its now on the 1864. I had also mounted some handy tie down loops to it for when I go mow my other lawns. I also noticed the deck hanger on the left side was missing the pin and had fallen out, allowing the left side of the deck to sit considerably lower than the right. A mew pin was all that needed. Still need to patch up the deck, get a pto belt, and maybe find some new gauge wheels. Also need to see why the choke cable is seized up. Didn't get a lot done today but I was just happy to make some progress

Hey kids, I discovered something mtd did right! My gauge wheels were no longer the right shape from wear. Last summer I pulled a very wore out deck off my parents' Huskee since they decided to use it for yard cart duty. For some reason I kept the wheels off of it. Well it turns out the wheels were the same, despite mounting differently. The pics show the new wheel bolted to the new mounting post thingy next to the stock wheel that came off of it.
I also got the deck knocked off to check it out, clean it up, and patch up a hole. Drove it around a bit at more than an idle and discovered it has some sweet hydro whine. Time for fluid and flter I guess.

Nice! This was my dad's. He had several through the years. Sure wish he woulda kept his first one. It had a Hemi, 4 speed, and 4.56 gears.
