Finally a whole day of work from my Cub
Its been a long struggle with my Cub 127. It was given to me as mainly junk and the second 127 I was lucky enough to find laying in someone's cheap as pile. After numerous overheats, fuel leaks, belt disasters, and now the 4th head gasket and one head milling my little Cub made it through a full lawn cutting, and then like clockwork, it went right into the rotary hoe project. It drove straight through driving that little rotary how till it was time to do my other chores. Whew.
I wanted to say thanks to the forum for answering my series of questions. Here are a couple photos of the terracing project so far. Andddd.... the uploaded photos don't seem to show, nor the URL I listed. Ah well I guess I'll go read the upload photos post somewhere. Thanks again. Scott |

It is always great when our machines work when we need them to work! It's a nice looking line up you have there and nice to know the cub is called into duty when the job is right for the machine. I cannot help noticing that the dirt in New Zealand looks a lot like the dirt in America.... Keep up the great work Scott and keep asking questions as you need to. Members are always glad to help each other out!

Another take on this topic
I know someone who's got 3 quiet lines. One of them I was fixing up for myself and he begged and begged and then begged some more for me to sell him my 1200. Fresh engine, new clutch and all. I finally gave in. So that makes 3. he's in his 60s and never married, belongs on the hoarders tv program. lives in the middle of nowhere, about 30 miles from me. Somehow had 1 barn not full of crap (we're not talking machinery or tools or cars... Clothes and household items) he lets me store some of my truck parts and lawn and garden stuff in there during off seasons. Lives on family farm ground, he doesn't farm it somebody else does. I go out and help him mow when I get a chance and can jump on any of my machines or his 3 and mow for hours as can my wife who isn't a gearhead type, she just gets into it because of me. Any machine. No issues. The first time he gets on any it's broken within an hour. And I get the call "I have no running mowers" Things like.... tries to jump start, and crossed terminals, melted the battery posts... Idk why he had to jump it to begin with.i had just used that machine the day with no problems. That was his other 1200, not my old one. They die and that is where they sit. I've seen him in the past where the 1250 sat out for over a year right where it quit. Usually it's a belt torn up, sometimes a flat tire. And this 1200 I rebuilt... He blew up the clutch... I got that one back at my place right now. I've seen him mow full speed ahead, in what sometimes gets to be calf high grass,no half swipes even. When I go out there usually it's just even with the top of the deck... And I go over it twice if needed the property owner don't. |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
