Default QA42A Snow Thrower

Have a QA 42A Snowthrower for sale. It's not going to work on my narrow frame. Gear box is good and tight with no binding or play. Everything works as it should.

$200.00 or best offer. Cannot ship, but can bring to Portland or can meet in central Indiana. Snow thrower is in Indianapolis, IN. Would trade for a CW36 in comparable condition.

You can contact me through the site or at mcclure.russell@gmail.com

If it is indeed a QA42A it should work on a NF.
The "A" stands for adjustable.
You just have to use the outer sets of holes to narrow it down to fit a NF.

I tried to adjust it, but the hangar has no way of attaching to my 70. This mount only works with narrow frame tractors 1x4 1x5 and up to serial #400,000

You are correct. It will work on NF tractors that have the "quick attach" feature.

Will it "pin on"? I have the same thrower I was going to try to mount to my 122 and bolt it on like I did for a snow blade, I haven't tried it yet... but I thought it would bolt on the same way... if not, that changes my plans drastically.

I'm not sure. I know that the hangar I have on the snow thrower requires the quick attach pins on the tractor frame. The attachment only has one set of holes on each side, and I need two to bolt it on. I think that your 122 would also need two holes to mount to the frame.

You could probably modify the hangar to work, and given you have a 12 horse engine, it should drive the snow thrower ok. I have an 8 horse K181 which would likely bog down and not work well.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
