Default 1450 found

Been about a year or so since my last post. Since then I have found myself a rear bottom plow and a running 1450 with deck and mule drive attached for $150.
The machine was said to be sitting for 2 years but still managed to start up and drive up onto my truck. The air cleaner was off the carb and the engine smoked a fair amount. I may run if for now and look for a rear lift for the plow and give it new rings and gaskets in the winter.

There is a little surface rust on the deck and that’s it.

That looks like a typical installation although it is beginning to fail.

Looks like a great find, considering all that you got for that price! You might try some Marvel Mystery Oil in the crankcase, run it briefly and then change the oil out. The smoke may be just a stuck ring, though it is probably due for a rebuild it still doesn't hurt to check. Also, synthetic oil doesn't smoke as bad if you determine that it does in fact need a rebuild and you want to cut down on the smoking.

Alright time to look for some things. I am in need of a knob for my forward and reverse lever for starters. I might just find something fun with the same thread but we will see.
Next I will need a 3 point hitch for it. I need to know what to look for, is there a difference between the lift on my 127 which is narrow frame or are they interchangeable?

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
