Default Can't find new blades for my 1450

Hi,

I have a Cub Cadet 1450 Mower and I'm having trouble finding new blades. The mower is 44". I'd like to order new mulching blades. The original blades are part # 759-3402-0637. The are 15" in length and have a 3/4" hole.

Can anyone help recommend some new mulching blades? I'd prefer to not order the same ones I have now and would like to try something new. However, all of the ones I'm finding online are either too long or different hole size.

Thanks.

If you don't mind grinding 1/8" off each end, Stens has this mulching blade...

Are those blade holes 5/8" as on the chart reads or 3/4"?
( chart is awful small to read even after blown up)

The correct blade(s) are 742P3002. I can find them all over the internet.

Thanks for the links.

I see the blade you linked (355-089) has a center hole of 5/8" instead of 3/4", so not sure that would work.

I do think I might be able to use a slightly larger blade though. There is about a 1/4" clearance from the edge of the blade to the mower deck.

The "Gator" brand of mulching blades were good. Some how they sold out or were bought out by Oregon Products (https://www.oregonproducts.com/en/products/lawn-and-garden/c/lg-p).

I am not sure that Oregon Products kept the production on the IH Cub Cadet Mower Deck Blades. If you can find them, the Gator Blades for the 44" deck was 90-957.

Do keep in mind the spacing between the blades has to be in consideration, as the blade tips will hit, as well as the offset of the blades from the horizontal plane.
Most times the horizontal is no concern, as it is easily compensated for by height adjustment.
That said, a blade center hole can be drilled out but one has to use a carbide drill or end mill, as a high speed drill is just about as hard as the blade material, causing much heat and as much smoke as a heap big native american poe-wow.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
