You need to look at #6, #7 & #8 in Bens pic. That is the only place you can adjust the hitch. My 1572 would lift the back of the tractor off the ground when I would lower the cat 0 plow. Your adjustment is screwing #6 into #8 or out and as Ben said the lower arm #9 slides up and down on #7 to give you some float. With the lift lowered I can only pick up on the hitch a few inches(out where the cat 0 pins go). On a GT with the lift lowered you can pull the arms the whole way up. When you get your tiller or plow on you need to adjust for the proper hight as per the manual.

I also can lift both rear wheels off the ground. The 982 has a category 0 hitch with a driveshaft. Tiller attaches using the lower links and top link. My friend has a 782 sleeve hitch tiller on his and it does a fantastic job. The sleeve hitches use a chain to lift the tiller.

Yes, the GT tractors (782) with a cat 0 hitch can be lowered all the way down and you can grab the end of the lower arms and pull them up to their full up postion. That is how much float they have. A super cat 0 does not have that much float. What I had to do on my plow was adjust the link so that there were less threads showing on part #8 in the diagram. Does part #9 slide on part #7 pretty easy? Can you post some pics and what do you have on it at this time?

I see what you mean about part #7 sliding up and down. I am presently over 100 miles from my tractor and cannot check the movement of part #7 . I'll have my son-in law check it out. Thanks Oak you have solved my problem.

there is another way but you have to have time to do it you can put a differnt valve in it like a jd one i know that vodo but they have float and if you want to and rear ports it you can get 3 spool so front and back ports are seperate. i bought a two spool from my hydaulic store but i had some issuse and far as fit and pluming. i wish we could get the float detent for the stock valves but i been told can't get NA

That wouldn't work for a true 3 point. Top link is a pivot, not a lift.
