Default Just picked up this 1650

Condition unknown but for 50 bucks couldn’t go wrong. Came with a disc, plow and a 5 tooth ripper. Been sitting for years, didn’t try turning over motor gonna soak the piston in mystery oil first while I pull the carb for a good cleaning or rebuild and points cleaning/plug. Fingers crossed she will fire and pull.

Default Finished for the time being

I still have to refinish the rear wheels (one has a lot of rust) but here's a before and after on the 122 . Most of the really rusty areas I cleaned, sanded and clear coated . Some got some yellow paint, just to keep it from rusting more. Engine swap/ new driveshaft, clutch, disk, TO bearing, wiring, headlights and switch, Ross box adjusted, new cables ,new head gasket. Finished today putting the weights back on.

In honor of Lew, I put GE headlights in , instead of the LEDs :-)

Runs really great. Looks a *little* less degenerate than when I started

and after

This is my snowplow rig. I built the rack on the back to carry a sprayer, but it works nicely to carry iron weights for plowing too. It has hydraulic lift which is great, but I wish I could find a simple way too make it power angle too.

The Ag Tires with chains give great traction. It has a lot of push.

Oh my aching axle bushings, that's a very capable looking rig.

Send pix when you get it moving snow in battle conditions!

Great cub, thanks for sharing!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
