Default New from Maine

Hello,

I am new Cub Cadet owner. I bought (2) 125's. One is fully running, moving, mowing, and the other was tagged as a parts tractor with a chance to save it. One is a 68, the other 69. Need to wait a little bit for the snow to melt to be able to get the running one out from the shed it is in, and the “parts” one from the snow. Pics are from the seller before winter. first few are the running one, and last 2 are the parts mower. Thanks for having me, already read a lot of things on this site and way too many YouTube videos on old Cubs.

Well hello there fellow Mainer. Was trying to make contact with previous owner on those 2. Not often you can find out who beat you to the punch. Haha

For me it was either save up and use tax return and get one of them $2k Murray at Home Depot “I work there as a part timer” or get something older and honestly better built and at worse put some money into it and have something that will last another 55 ish years

Right now I have to use an electric sunjoe 14 inch mower and the place we rent has no outside sockets, so I have to run a massive extension cord out the front door, back door, 3 different windows, it’s as annoying as it sounds. Been doing that for 3 years now. Can’t wait to get them home once more snow melts away from them.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
