Default Radio Stations

I love 60's thru 80's music, especially on Sunday evening.
I search around the internet, and I'm from Pittsbutgh, but in my local travels this station is one of my programmed button favorites when I get in the Youngstown Ohio area (live radio)

Gimme' some leads on sounds in your area. Thanks!

I also enjoy the oldies,I'm about 45 miles west of pittsburgh and use to enjoy the 3ws sunday night oldies but that went away ! In my area I usually listen to cool 101.7 although they don't have much broadcast range out of the johnstown area, 107.1 out of greensburg is also pretty good they do more 70's and 80's than 50/60's though !

Yeah, I used to love 3WS, unfortunately they now view something heavy metal from the 80's as an "oldie".

I know it's not cheap, But I am a music lover "play guitar" and listen to all kinds of music. Classic rock, Southern rock, are some of my favorites. When I bought a truck some years back it came with a Sirius xm radio and a free 6 month subscription. After the free subscription ended I really missed it and signed up. Can't imagine a long truck ride without it anymore. I love that there is ZERO static and can listen to same station for 100's or even 1000's of miles commercial free.

They have stations dedicated by decade. 40's, 50,s 60's etc etc .and also other stations like classic rewind and classic vinyl.

I too had some vehicles that came with the free trial period. But I'm just too much of an "el Cheapo" to pay for something I can get for free otherwise. Besides, what would life be without commercials?

I hear ya... I did figure out tho. If you let the yearly subscription end and let them call you a few times before renewing, They will drop their price. I got 40% off the regular price this year.

In Mi, I used to listen to the opry on WSM in Nashville while working nights.
----- enjoyed some rockabilly boys also.
FM didn't become popular in vehicles till the early 60's
I still listen to AM for news/talk, you can always tell how far the storms are by the "crackle" in the AM radio, long before you see the lightning.
Back then you lost Fm, less than 100 miles from the station on a good night.
Today I don't need a radio in the ol truck,
To many "kids" blasting you from a mile away with their thumper "noise"
But I'm just an old Fart.

Are you north or south of Pittsburgh? 103.1 KVE out of Mt Pleasant is a lot like WDVE before Clear Channel ruined radio.

I miss Magic 97, and wish Bob would go away.

Willie 103.5, the classic country station, which I believe plays from St Clairsville, OH, is the best station in the Pittsburgh market, IMHO.

When I lived in Pittsburgh,, I used to listen to Jim Quinn,, when he first went on the air,,

"Quinn is best remembered in the Pittsburgh area as the vociferous nighttime host on KQV radio in the 1960s, during the station's peak as a Top 40 power.
Quinn was hired from WING/Dayton in 1967 and had an immediate impact on the market."

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
