When the alternator seized up on my 782D I did not get a new one, but simply replaced the bearings in it. It has been running fine for years. If I recall, There where 2 ball bearings used a number KB-15531-74180, (may be superseded by another number) but was only about $ 12.00 each.

Thanks Frank. Hopefully, after the new alternator is installed, the 1512 will be good for a long time.

looks like that bearing might be a sealed both sides 6201, but not sure.
IIRR the Harley panhead 6v generators of the 50's used that common little bearing but it's been 50+ years since I rebuilt one.
I'd suggest not to pitch that alt. if all it needs is a pair of bearings.:beerchu

Will be keeping it, George. Will have it rebuilt, and put on the shelf.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
