I've put one set of brake pads on ever, the 128 actually ran into the basement door of my house. I really don't remember if it needed them actually or if a good cleaning of all parts and adjusting would have fixed them--it was 19 or 20 years ago. Were the pads ever determined to be bad actually in this case? Have they and the calipers been cleaned up and adjusted by the book? FWIW I have had to unstick the ones on hydros from lack of use.

What is going on here on this thread???
Oh, and the 108 has now been changed to a parts or whole tractor. In the ad it does say that the brakes don't work and everything else. Now we wait... Found a 124 for 400$ with a snowblower. Hmm, should I go pick it up? |

The first two tractor listed (1250 and 108) are mine, the rest are ones on our farm that I don't own (Most are my brother's).

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
