This thing has your name all over it then, I will drop it off at your dads when I see him.

So, Uncle Lewy, looks like you will either be mowing tomorrow in your "back to nature" suit or your plumbers outfit! Nice pick-up Unc. Since it is the C-series 70, I hope you got it for the characteristic Uncle Lewy's 1 C-note price!!!

Great find my friend!!

Thank you! Is Seymour Hiny related to Mr. Bunz?

So I got a look see at this, wiring harness is questionable, roll pin is broken by the GDR.
Brakes work, and it does have a decent deck, missing parts of the baffles though.
It was hot today and the pool was calling so I took a break.
PM sent JB

Nice looking tractor Lew!! I really like the 70/100's.. they are dirt simple but rugged and reliable.. easy to work on.. and on top of all that they have good lines!

Last week I spent some time fixin' stuff the get it to be a worker. Starts on the first revolution, putt putt putt putt...

Serviced the clutch.
Replaced the damaged PTO lever.
PTO works now.
Did a little rewiring and now the battery charges.
It was missing the S/G.
Put in a used key switch instead of twisting the wires together.
New points, and plug, 55 year old condenser still working.
Replaced the muffler.
Unfroze the front steering knuckles.
Fixed the leaky tank, put a sediment bowl filter on.
Cleaned and put a new kit and throttle bushing in the carb.
Replaced the froze up choke cable.
Drained the trans and replaced with hytran from the 1512.
Still need a shifter knob thingy.
The deck I replaced two rusty outer pulleys, and idler. Blades were still sharp.
I reused the old belts as they look like they were replaced.

All parts I got from the used parts store, except the clutch disc, a guy I know had a used one.
Now the 70 is a turn key tractor.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
