Default Saturday's Grab

Now I can be in the 'Multi Cubs' Club!! Early production 149 s/n 401913, with a 48"(?) deck - (the ID plate is missing - I'll have to measure it) and plow. Looks like it will clean up well, the motor sounds great, the hydro is dry (or empty!!) and it was a turn-key tractor. The mule drive is shot, but that's ok for now as I purchased this unit for use with the snowthrower. I think the mower deck may be a scrap candidate as well, but at least the beraings are tight, and it's actually pretty quiet. The PTO seems to be fine, but the tires appear ready to go at any time. Looks to be all original, I'm gonna de-grease it today and give it a good scrubing.

Needs original rear taillights, steering adjusted (turns much tighter to the left), brakes adjusted (can you still get new pads?), and a good going over. I hadn't intended to go wide frame, but for $350 I couldn't pass it up.

Guys-

Does the underframe mount on the snowblade look correct for the wideframe?

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
