Depending on how it tests out in the field, I'd rather have the IH 782 than the CCC 782. Equally good machines, but I'm more of a pure IH guy.

LOL @ Ray - the gloves... well, you and Rosemary must think I'm nuts, walking around the farm like I'm giving a white-glove inspection, but they are the way to go for me! I got turned on to the plastic gloves about a year and a half ago, and I'm all in (obviously). They save a lot of wear and tear on my hands, and clean-up is soo much easier. We don't have a utility sink at the house, so all washing is done in the kitchen sink, and less dirt and grime in the kitchen makes the wife a happy girl!
I'll bring a box up for Rosemary this week, maybe I can convince her to join the glove club...

Ray, always good to visit the farm! Sorry to see the 782 go, but I'm confident you won't break THAT one! Hope the new owner enjoys it as much as the boys and I did. And the 72 now has lights, too!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
