This question must be taboo everywhere, especially with CC. They stated it was a "fabrication" I'm trying to do.
I'm just trying to save over $100 by buying 3 sets of blades, that could work, comparted to 1 set. I know the other will fit, but didn't know after putting them on if they actually hang lower to the ground, would cut all the grass and not leave a line of uncut grass by using .17" shorter blades, etc...…. Everyone stay safe out there. |

I realize you are new here. I am only speaking for myself.
Your first post....I have no clue what you are asking. Perhaps a little more detailed explanation might bear some answers for you.

After googling yer numbers and not having a clue as to what your lawnmower looks like, I can only say, blades with less fingers will not mulch the grass up as much as small ones with more fingers but will throw the grass out better. Looking at the lifting tabs on the ends of the blades, my opinion is unless one cuts the grass 2x a week the clippings are not going to disappear but will be cut up in finer/smaller pieces.
As far as if they will fit your application, they give no dimensions or pdf file for comparison,so you would have to rely on their application listings. |

Sorry
Cub Cadet ZT2 54" ultima series factory mulching blades 942-05056-x, 18.67" long The other part number is 942-0677-x, 18.5" long Besides the .17 shorter, what difference would the 0677-x blades make? Would it still overlap enough to cut all the grass? do they hang down further than the factory replacement blades? (meaning by the way they are bent and shaped would they hang down lower at the cutting edge) Both have the 6 point star for Cub Cadet, and would fit. $90+/- for the 05056-x blades seem a bit pricy, when/if the other at ~$35 would work? Just wanted to see if anyone out there has used the 0677-x and what results?? Thanks for all who responds |

I have NO experience with that Mower or mower deck.
From my experience with my 784 w/50C deck, when the tips of the blades become worn and their length gets reduced, when mowing straight, the cut seems OK. Make a turn, and the uncut "stripes" appear. I am guessing this would also apply in this situation. Maybe others with ZTR experience can chime in.

Quote:
expensive blade for cheap. try Stens/rotary or Windsor brands if the cross reference crosses ok, might be an alternative, if they even make such, might be another alternative. Your talking about 3/16" shorter might work, might not, depending just how much they overlap them and I don't know that as Roland says. As far as blade offset, don't know either. Does Amazon still offer free returns? TSC usually has no problem on returns but don't know about a special orders Just some ideas if you haven't already thought of that |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
